what sleep position works best for you during pregnancy?

i’m 29 weeks, having twins and can’t find a position to sleep in, or even just lay down. nothing is comfortable. i’m always in pain. any advice?
i have a maternity pillow, and many body pillows. i try sleeping on my side, but then one baby wants to move all the time, so i try my other side and the other baby moves. and its not like they are moving…its like they think my tummy is a jungle gym! i’ve tried to sleep sitting up, i have a million pillows, but nothing works. i get major heartburn even though tums are my best friend. i get restless leg syndrome too, and the only way to get rid of it is to go to sleep. however, i can’t sleep! i’m up until 2 or 3 in the morning when i’m REALLLLLY exhausted just so i can fall asleep. i have to get out of bed and pace around my room. it’s so exhausting.
i’m getting pretttty jealous that you guys have guys to get you through this. i’m alone. :( its rough.

I had about 6 pillows I arranged underneath me with a hollow for my belly so I didn’t have any weight on it.

There’s also a lot of specially designed pillows that can help support your belly while sleeping. If you look in your local baby store I’m sure you’ll find a few options. I remember seeing a fantastic one designed by a woman who made a large one that let you sleep on your tummy comfortably, but I think it may have been a New Zealand product and I don’t know if it’s available overseas.

During the day try spending some time on your hands and knees. It takes a lot of pressure of your lower back. Maybe grab a magazine and put it on the floor so you can read. If you have a cherry pip or wheat back you could heat that up and balance it on your lower back to relieve any pain there while you’re doing this as well.

On side with a body pillow. Have you tried a body pillow or pregnancy pillow?

Have you tried sleeping in a recliner? I hear that works well for some women.
I slept sitting up after my c-section.

During pregnancy I slept on my left side with a body pillow. My shoulder would hurt like the dickens at night though. I guess it was from the relaxing muscles and additional weight

Might want to consider getting a body pillow.

I got my best sleep in a recliner- laid back- feet up.
Try that. I hope it helps!

I feel for you. I am 39 weeks and 2 days along.
The baby has dropped and i get pain laying down.
I am only having one though.
I always lay on my right side. My doctor told me that that was ok. Just to be sure to prop myself up a little so i dont lay on my back.
Have you tried sleeping in a lazy boy chair? My doctor also recommended me to sleep in that if i cant get comfy on the bed.

Once I got to that point, I took sofa cushions and propped them up on the bed. I had to get the pillows just right, and I could get somewhat comfortable. It was kinda sleeping sitting up, but it was better than on my side because of the hip pain I had. Before I used the sofa cushions, I used a reading pillow. That would’ve been ok, but it was too hard. If you go for the reading pillow, get the bean bag style or the one filled with styrofoam. They’re softer. And stack pillows up beside you for arm rests. Then if you’re like me, ***** about it to your husband every night before falling asleep. I was so grumpy that I couldn’t get comfortable.

I’m also 29wks (not with twins) and had a very difficult time getting comfortable. BODY PILLOW! When my fiance isnt there or hasnt come to bed yet, I use a body pillow. Left side is most comfortable for me and i will hike up one thigh/leg and put it on top of the body pillow with it between my legs and hugging the top of it. If he’s home and in bed with me at the same time, i use him rather than the body pillow. i switch sides a lot too during the night so sometimes it’s easier to just use the pillow rather than him so that he doesnt have to switch sides of the bed…which he HAS done for me before i got the body pillow! :)
